What is VDay Minneapolis?

Picture
V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.

Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues, A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer, and screenings of V-Day's documentary Until The Violence Stops, to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their own communities.

"Welcome" from the local organizers:

Thank you for visiting our site and welcome to VDay Minneapolis!  We are excited to hold a number of upcoming events, ranging from a theatrical production of Eve Ensler's "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer" to a concert featuring advocate-musicians and artists from throughout the Twin Ciities.  These events are part of our effort to come together as community members and honor the men and women who have fought for a safer and more just global community.  We welcome you to attend these events... or contact us and take an active role!

If you are interested in being part of VDay, please go to the "Contact Us" page and let us know!
